Boiler Reef

About

Generally uncrowded...beautiful scenery...decent wave and friendly seals - what more cold you want?...tropical water, consistent off-shores, solid swells, fields of marijuana, topless belles bathing on the rocks and a small cocktail bar at the waters edge? Don't we all!!!

Atmosphere:
This is a sweet spot...although it is probably the weakest of the Gower Reefs, you still need to be of a respectable level of skill to surf it - for the sake of yourself and the other surfers who frequent it. It's also relatively easy to work out where the other reefs are from this spot as on a clear day (in Wales!?!?!?) you can see some of the other reefs breaking...

Additional Info:
Get an a map to help with the directions...You can also work out the easier parking spot with it...just a little time and effort is needed!

Access

Head on out through the Gower...Go towards Rhosilli (NOT 'Gennith)...go past Rhosilli turning...park at Port Eynon if this is your first time here...walk along the cliffs to your right till you come to a large opening approx. 300m wide with rocks in front of you...the wave is directly infront of these rocks...wear booties of some sort as the rocks are bloody sharp!
There is an alternative way of accessing this spot, but the parking is almost non-existent and the people that live there don't like the surfers using their drive-ways as parking spots! Also I want to be able to park there still!!!
