Del Monte Beach
Edit SpotAbout
Great place for beginner surfers, can be a decent challenge for advanced surfers when it gets big.
Additional Info:
This is the place where I learned to surf before stepping it up to Asilomar, Pac Grove, Carmel and other slots down PCH. Very lazy wave that's likely to closeout often but if you can grab is on a good day it's all yours.
Surfing there for 5 years solid and never had a case of localism or anything along the lines. Fires on the beach are OK and real nice sandy bottom you can walk out for a good 200 yards if you need to save your arms for the real paddling.
Have seen great whites in the lineup before so keep tabs on the vibe, but that should not be anything new for Cent-Cal surfers.
