French Baldie Slab

Edit Spot
About

Beautiful scenery and nice to watch from the top of the cliffs overlooking the cove with the break right in the middle of it. Don't know much about the bottom but judging from the sand boiling up here and there it's sandy-rocky. It's either make the fast and hollow tube ride or eat it.

Atmosphere:
Locals don't want you to go here. Spot is named after an old bald french guy who told us we shouldn't go.
A heavy slab wave with a fat lip, breaking over shallow rock creating a fast right barrel. Half of the time closes out, half of the time creates a mutant square tube probably most popular with boogie boarders.

Additional Info:
Park your car by the side of the road or further south on the dirt road intersection and walk here.
You want to access the spot from the exposed rocks on the right side of the spot or paddle straight out from the rock-scattered beach inside the small bay. This is where you want to paddle back in, too.
Seen people riding here on mid to high-tide only.

Hard to find spot as it is not visible from the road.
If you're driving north from Boilers in a long left curve there is a dirt road coming from the right and some construction work going on. Drive through here and after the next right curve, stop your car by the roadside, walk over the hill and you'll see the spot.

Coming in from Tamri after about 2kms there is a viaduct/bridge you're passing, after which the road curves to the left. Stop after the curve by the side of the road, walk up over the dune and there you are.

If you're lucky few other cars are parked by the road already, marking the spot for you!
