About

a very funny and powerful wave for good surfers
...sick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Atmosphere:
This is an almost bodyboarder spot... but if you have the skills to surf here, you are in for a huge adrenaline shot. There is no concern in staying in the wavem as it is incredicly powerful, so you can just focus on the moves...if you are luck and there are barrels, than you are in for a real treat... have fun !!!

Additional Info:
It's a very powerful wave. You must see if the wave is really opening. Check out for the locals, as they are pretty cocky, and have no patience at all... don´t try to cut anyone's wave, or you'll get burned afterwards... might by a painful experience...

A lot of famous surfers are from this spot, like Bruno Santos (winner of the 2008 Teahupo WCT), big rider Gulherme Herdi, famous shaper Ricardo Martins, amog others

In the oceanic reagion of the city of Niterói, which is right next to Rio. This is a paradisiac beach, full of beatiful women.

The wave is the most powerful in all Rio de Janeiro State. With fast and hollow waves, you must have a quick drop-in to surf here.

The beach itself has three defined spots, the rocks on the left (Costão), and right (Pampo), and the middle, which is even more hollow, and usually dominated by bodyboarders.

There is also an alternative, which is called "Prainha" (Little beach). This spot is in the right side of Itacoatiara beach.

By crossing the rock that is on that side you'll be able to see it if it's working. It's easy to get in by jumping from the rock but getting out the water is a bit tricky... as many urchins as nature could put there !!! ask a local for directions...
