Junquillal
Edit SpotAbout
if you have been to costa rica you might have found your self very deserted or found yourself in some of the touristy crowded areas. junquillal is a pretty remote area and on some days you might see two or three people on the beach and no one in the water. beware when your walking out, there are sting rays. a sting can ruin a day of surf pretty easy. if traveling through dont miss this spot.
Additional Info:
A ten minute walk down the beach from Hotel Iquanazul, this break can get really fun. During higher tides, there are many peaks that offer hollow, fast rights and lefts- the waves jack up off the sand bar very quickly creating a tough, but exciting, drop in. It breaks very close to shore in shallow water over a sandy bottom.
