About

Especially good for beginners.

warm water, easy waves, nice landscape, relaxing atmosphere, no crowd.

Atmosphere:
A really great spot when it's good. The locals are really friendly and it's a great atmosphere. Not including the airfare, a super cheap and enjoyable vacation!

Thailand is very unique. People are friendly. The land and the climate is beautiful. The surfing aspect is not like Hawaii anyway it is pretty good and interesting territory. Going there one time in a life is compulsory!!!

Additional Info:
There is one must for every surfer: You have to go to Kata Mama beach resaurant. There is a little surfshop and surflender there. The food and the atmosphere is extraordinary. Surfers congragate there everyday.

Access

Located on Phuket Island, about an hour south of the airport. Easy access. There is a surf shop where you can rent boards at the south end of the beach called "Phuketsurf.com".

Find the coastal road in Kata center, and go towards south on that, through the sheer hill. When you arrive on the other side of the hill, you will find yourself in a tiny village with a white hotel on the rightside. There is a little park after the hotel. Betwen tha hotel and the park it is a little dirt road wich goes directly to Kata Yai beach. Have fun!
