Los Coquitos
Edit SpotAbout
Well it’s not Todos Santos or Pipeline, but for Venezuelan standards it’s big enough (10 ft). Especially when the hurricane season hits the coastline it can be very scary and gnarly (12/15ft).
Atmosphere:
Unfortunately there is a strong localism, but most surfers are really cool when you get to know them, show some respect and skills and you'll be accepted as one of their own in no time(I know that because I lived there several years).
Additional Info:
If you are a newcomer get there early in the morning when there are no crowds, or at sunset. Waves are at their best at this time of the day. Watch out for the thieves or your surftrip will turn into a nightmare. Do not try Los Cocos beach which is next door if you don’t know any local surfer and do not drop in from of anybody's wave, they'll kick your ass, period.

If you're in Caracas take the bus from "el nuevo circo" bus terminal to Caraballeda , get off at the last stop, then find the entrance to Los Cocos beach (ask the local people but I doubt you'll miss it). Los Coquitos is located after the third jetty on the right.
