Samara is a lot of fun. For the serious surfer there are boat trips to excellent waves in the Samara bay and at nearby beaches, notably camaronal.

Playa Samara is a beginner/intermediate, longboard surfbreak. Unusual in Costa Rica where heavy waves are the norm. Big waves outside on the reef or on the island.

Additional Info:
Best beach waves 150 meters from town center in front of Bar Las Olas. Island and reef surfing available by boat.
