Praia de Iporanga

About

The waves here are " hello and goodbye". Fast, hollow, ledgey but predictable. Short boards not recommended. Longboard?!? HAHAHAH.......

Atmosphere:
This is a serious bodyboarding wave. The drop is the most important move here, after the drop there´s a huge barreling section and after that the wave is over. This spot denfitely is not for beginners.

There´s no more than 2ft of water between the wave bottom and the boulder infested with urchins and barnacles.

The wave is fast and super sucky, but the barrel is predictable.

The take off here is everything, make it right and prepare for the barrel, and please, DON`T go straight foward.

ONLY go on a wave you if are sure that you´re going to drop it...atherwise you can get sucked

Additional Info:
Be carefull to get in and to get out of the water. It´s dangerous and there are a lots of barnacles on the rocks that can easily cut your feet. Since there´re only rocks you must jump from one of them to get to the line up, and to get back you have to be carefull when trying to grab a rock. Timing is a must in here.

This is a Bodyboarding spot. Only sponges charges this place.

There´re several locals who wait for a good east swell to surf this sucky wave.

Since there´s only one wave and it breaks always at the same place positioning here is difficut, specially if you don´t know anybody in the water.
