Leaving from "Ribeira Beach",half an hour walk on a path that passes through the forest, crossing waterfalls. There are some agencies in Itacaré that organize guided tours. No infrastructure at the beach - only coconut water is sold there.
The hike is nice but don't go alone. There have been incidents of thieves waiting and hiding in the forest and robbing people at gun point on the trails. Some people have hiked alone and found no trouble, but it's better to find a partner to go with. The police had arrested some thieves last year, but doesn't mean another crew will pop up. I deal with the locals in the hood and they talked me out of going alone.
