Puerto Nuevo

About

If its good enough for Tom... it must be worth a visit.

It is great and really fun to surf, gives you chills when it is big!!!

Atmosphere:
A nice short really hollow-powerful wave nice for tubes and air and maximum speeds.

Additional Info:
Quality beach break - it was favoured by Tom Curren when he was cruising round these parts...

You need a round pin tail or a big concave on the flat of your board for better performance, but a simple board will still do.

Access

A couple of kms north of Puerto Viejo (69km south of Lima) is a beach called 'Las Tres Islas' which is accessed by the beach of 'Las Gramitas'

The entrance has a barrier which you should be able to talk you way through - this is a 'private' beach resort - but not totally inaccesible.. If not go to Puerto Viejo and walk or 4x4 for 1km up the beach
