S-Turns
Edit SpotAbout
the outer banks are the best surfing area on the east coast and this is the best spot on the outer banks. tuberides. natual, pretty environment. probably the most powerful wave around.
Additional Info:
extremly crowded in warm months if there's waves, but there are no bad vibes. can probably surf it alone in the winter but the water goes down to the low 40s. it's a powerful beachbreak so don't hesitate when standing up.

just north of rodanthe at the southern end of pea island on the cape hatteras national seashore, the road s-turns several hundred yards before a group of large vacation houses (the break does shift north or south year to year, however). if the waves are halfway decent you'll see plently of surfers and their cars parked along the road. do not park in the sand! keep two tires on the road, and walk over the sand dunes to the waves.
