south point boardwalk
Edit SpotAbout
start on the sand. walk towards the old condemned pier. see the channel, wait to see black smoke and loud fog horns blarin from up river. these are the notices to depart. get in the water and hurry out there before the homeland security boat sees you. good luck.
Atmosphere:
its a local haunt. was once a popular bbq spot, but the miami beach politicians though an ugly generic park would serve a better purpose than families enjoying a weekend out with the kids.
Additional Info:
dont carry anything you dont want confiscated. understand the statement? dont go if youre not willing to get hit by a boat or get arrested.

if you have the cojones to paddle across the "cut" avoiding cruise ships and the law, or, you can trade food or beer for a drag across the cut by jetski or small boat, youll be rewarded by 5-6 huuuuuuuge cruise ships engaging the speed towards the bahamas. they depart at or around sunset everyday, which makes it a constant oportunity. the wakes from some of these ships are bigger than others. usually head or at least chest high, and super fast. get off rather swiftly or slam into the rock jetty. if you can stay in the wake, its about a 200 yard run.
you'll hear from a crowd looking over the boat rails screamin and hollering for ya. now get back to dry land and run, cause the cops are on their way. they dont swim, they wait. oh, and dont take your best board. obvious reasons.
