Tai Long Wan (Lantau)

Edit Spot
About

There is a few old ladies that will sell you drinks from an outside fridge. Mind the packs of dogs, roudy but harmless.

Atmosphere:
Is always quiet and waves are generally verry good. Not often very hollow but powerfull and fast. Best in the winter months as are all the spots in hong kong. However gets very good during typhoons in the summer months.

Additional Info:
Perfect when typhoon has died down. Doesnt really get choppy but the waves start crumbling and become over powering.

Take the lantau ferry from the central ferry pier on HK island. If youre taking your board you have to take the slow ferry which takes around an hour but does not go as frequently as the usual. It is worth getting a ferry timetable.
From the lantau ferry pier ask a taxi to take you to Tai Long Wan which costs around $100. Buses wont accept you with a board, however body boards are okay. Once in Tai Long Wan village you'll hear the waves, just walk along the little path to the beach.
